Cloud computing has generated a lot of interest in the media lately. However the ability to take advantage of moving systems out of the office, and save money, has typically not been cost effective for the small and medium size businesses. The availability of cheap, fast and reliable internet services now makes it a much more attractive proposition. In simple terms Cloud Computing means you no longer need to house servers at your own office, reducing premises and security costs and with the consequent reduction of the use of air conditioning and power a ‘greener’ footprint. Although BT has made a big fanfare of its Cloud Computing Products and Services there are many smaller companies which have started to offer cost effective solutions to the SME market.
