“Nearly half of consumers are dissatisfied with their energy provider, according to a study published today. The survey by the comparison service Uswitch, of 5,090 UK energy users, shows only 52 per cent of people are satisfied with the service they receive. And, despite price cuts averaging about four per cent this year, or £54 off the average bill, only 51 per cent of customers think their supplier is giving them value for money.
The best provider is Scottish and Southern Energy, maintaining its top spot for the sixth year running for overall levels of service. The research shows 60 per cent of customers are satisfied with the service it provides.
By contrast, Npower is at the bottom of the table for the second year running, based on responses to the survey conducted last week. Only 39.8 per cent of customers said they were satisfied with customer service.
The biggest improver is British Gas. Customer satisfaction levels have increased by 11 per cent to take it into fourth place.”
This follows Ofgem criticism of the energy suppliers last week when they pointed out that whilst wholesale gas and electricity prices have plummeted, the retail prices whilst they have fallen have failed to match the wholesale rate of decline. Whilst the statistics above are for the consumer market, the same companies provide the same energy to the business market and he same disparity exists between retail and wholesale pricing. We would argue that this reinforces the importance for business of having access to completely impartial advice on the state of the market and the ability to compare tariffs from all suppliers. Auditel provides this – guaranteed impartiality, the best prices without any commission payments and a no-win no-cost model that transfers all the risk from the client to us as trusted advisors. We also provide much much more than just best prices – more on that to come in a future blog.
