Digital Britain report unveils new levy on phone lines

The government has finally published its Digital Britain report. The major impact on UK businesses is that A 50p-a-month levy will be imposed on all fixed copper lines to help create an independent “next generation fund” to help pay for faster broadband access – targeted as 2 megabits per second from 2012.
