9 Weeks to go

The last 2 weeks have seen some tough mileages going in, around 40 per week.  Sorted out the lack of fluid and nutrients on the long (17 mile) runs.  Couldn’t get any of the energy gels from anywhere at short notice so took some Strawberries and Blueberries with me and 1.5 litres of water – that sorted it.  Felt so much better it was unbelievable.

If there are any nutritional experts out there I would welcome your input.  I currently take daily:

1 x multi vitamin (ABC Plus from Holland & Barrett)

1 x 400mg Cod Liver Oil (Health Rack)

2 x tablets – each containing 200mg Calcium & 75mg Magnesium (Health Rack)

2 x 1000mg Glucosamine again from Health Rack

Is this the RIGHT supplementation and is it enough?  Your advice is welcome?

I have also started to get a lot of cramp and not just in my calf’s – I also crave salted crisps and I have also started to put salt on my food (never used to use salt at all) is this normal?  The salt does seem to reduce the cramps!

Had a few days off this week as we’ve been up to Gretna Green to witness our friends 25 Anniversary re-newing of their Wedding vows.  Have been eating out all the time and most of it was junk food so need to get back on things next week, both healthy eating and training.

Also ordered some energy gels (SIS) from Amazon of all places so will be well equipped for a long weekend run….
